Held each fall, the Zombie Ride is more than just a festive bike ride, it’s a movement to promote physical activity, celebrate our beautiful parks and bike trails, and encourage healthy lifestyles in a way that’s engaging for all ages. Riders of all skill levels are welcome, and many families join in the fun, dressing up in their best zombie attire and pedaling through scenic routes filled with laughter and surprises.

Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a unique way to enjoy the outdoors, the Zombie Ride offers something for everyone. Expect themed rest stops, music, photo ops, and plenty of spooky cheer along the way!

For 2026, The zombies are taking over Applegate Park and Kiddieland! Join Cultiva Central Valley for a free, family-friendly Halloween event on

Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Applegate Park, 1045 W. 25th Street in Merced.

Enjoy free Kiddieland rides courtesy of Gold Runner beginning at 10:00 AM.
Young children can participate in the Zombie Crawler Trail at 1:15 PM,
Followed by the Zombie Ride at 2:00 PM.

The ride is a fun opportunity to explore Merced’s bike trails, get some exercise, and connect with family, friends, and neighbors. Short and long trail options will be available

Additional activities include zombie face painting, a costume showcase, snacks, raffle prizes, and a Spooky Fright-Dance featuring Nintendo Switch.

The first 100 participants to register will receive a free Zombie Ride goodie bag.

Mini-Zombie Ride

(1 to 10 years old)

Calling all tiny terrors! Our Mini-Zombie Ride is the perfect way for little ones to join the undead fun. With pint-sized bikes, trikes, and strollers decked out in spooky style, kids will cruise through a safe, festive path filled with friendly zombies, silly skeletons, and giggles galore. Costumes encouraged—zombie growls optional!

Pedal through Merced’s bike trails and make your way past fun, zombie-themed pit stops! Stop for activities, refreshments, and visits with community partners while collecting a raffle ticket at each pit stop. The more stops you visit, the more chances you’ll have to win!
