What is the Grant Writing Workshop Project?
Cultiva Central Valley’s Grant Writing Workshop Project is a community-focused initiative designed to equip local leaders, nonprofits, and changemakers with the skills and knowledge needed to secure funding for impactful projects. Supported by the Central California Alliance for Health, in partnership with United Way of Merced County, this program aims to build grant writing capacity across Merced County.
Who can benefit from this workshop?
Anyone involved in nonprofit work, community leadership, or project development can benefit. Whether you're new to grant writing or looking to enhance your current skills, our tailored sessions are designed to support your growth.
What topics are covered in the workshop?
The workshop consists of 6 interactive sessions, covering:
Introduction to Grant Writing
Understanding RFA/RFPs (Requests for Applications/Proposals)
Crafting Effective Narratives
Developing a Scope of Work
Budgeting and Budget Justification
Sustainability Planning and Building Relationships with Funders
How many participants are allowed per cohort?
Each cohort is limited to 14 participants to ensure personalized attention and meaningful engagement. Commitment to all sessions is required.
What will I achieve by the end of the workshop?
Participants will complete the program with a fully developed grant proposal that’s ready for submission.
Is there a cost to attend the workshop?
No, participation is completely FREE, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Central California Alliance for Health.
When does the next cohort start?
Cohort II is scheduled to begin in September 2026.
