UC Merced CEAL

Stop COVID-19

The UC Merced CEAL Stop COVID-19 project is dedicated to addressing the impact of COVID-19, particularly within disproportionately affected communities. The project focuses on community engagement and education through activities such as community workshops, mental health sessions, and educational outreach.

Our team traveled to high traffic community events and workshops to educate community members on recognizing COVID-19 symptoms and addressing mental health needs, while also providing ongoing training for our Promotoras, also known as Community Health Workers (CHW’s).

Additionally, we collaborate with partners such as UC Merced for data analysis and dissemination to ensure our efforts are effective and impactful. Emphasizing strong community engagement, we work closely with local health organizations like Golden Valley Health Centers and partners such as Duke University to enhance our outreach and support efforts. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and UC Merced for their unwavering support of the UC Merced CEAL Stop COVID-19 project. Through this partnership, Cultiva Central Valley has delivered vital education and facilitated COVID-19 vaccinations at local community events, ensuring Merced residents are safer and better informed. Together, we are building a healthier, more resilient community.
